Jack Weyland

So this post is going to be all about the genius writer Jack Weyland. (Jack Weyland is a Mormon novel writer.) Let me tell you! He is a genius! I love his books and that is all I've read on my free time. I finished one of his books in one night just laying in bed! That is how much I love his books! I have read a bunch of them but still have more to read. These are the some of them that I have read.

(These are the order I read them in too.)

It All Started with Autumn Jones

Alone Together

Brianna, My Brother, And The Blog

PepperTide

A New Dawn

The Understudy (I read this one in 1 night)

It doesn't look like very many but I also have read lots of other books because of school reports and other things like that. I have listened to a few too. They work well on rode trips instead of watching movies. I really enjoy reading. My mom and Orin think I should get a GoodReads but I jsut haven't yet. I'll get around to it sometime. I really recommend his books. All of his books may seem to start out slow but around the second or third chapter they start getting really, really good. They are totally great books. Anyone who reads them will know why I say that.

That now ends today's post. :)

My First Gourmet Cupcake

This is from a long time back but I found it in my DRAFT list. So I guess I will be blogging about it today. We will see how it goes, or if I still remember what happened. Here it goes.

Forever ago, I was laying on the couch complaining that I didn't know what to do. I love to hang with my friends and watch TV sometimes but my dad would not let me do any of these things. He told me the usual, "You can go read a book or clean your room, that sounds fun!" I hate when he does that to me. And trust me I did not what to do the things she suggested so then my mom reminded me that I got a cookbook for Christmas and I had not done anything with it. So I looked through the cookbook and I saw lots of deserts that looks SO good and that I wanted to try but on everyone of them we didn't have at least 1 of the ingredients so I wasn't able to make them. So then I started looking for recipes that had ingredients we did have and I found the recipe that looked good but seemed like it had weird ingredients in so I said to myself, Lets try it. So I got out all the ingredients and started to make it.

This is the recipe for only the cupcake:
INGREDIENTS:
1 box of yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1 cup of sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
powdered sugar to garnish
1 recipe whipped cream
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

MIX together cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla.
POUR into paper liners and fill 3/4 full.
BAKE at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Cupcake tops will be rounded.
REMOVE from pan and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
DUST top with powdered sugar and serve with a dollop of whipped cream and blueberries to garnish.

The recipe for the whipped cream:
INGREDIENTS:
2cups heavy whipping cream
1/4-1/2 cup powdered sugar (depending on preference)

POUR cream into large mixing bowl and start mixing at low speed. Gradually increases speed until cream thickens and soft peaks form.
TURN off mixer and add sugar. Start slowly again-no messes today! Beat until stiff peaks form.
THE stiffer the cream, the easier it is to frost the cupcakes. Keep refrigerated.

These cupcakes are my favorite and I always make them if we have all the ingredients. I recommend them to everyone!! I would post pics but I don't know where they are. Hehehe. I post some pics later. :)

Credit for the recipe was out of the book, 101 Gourmet Cupcakes in 10 Minutes.

I get to show her what it is going to be like or to give her an idea, because her girls camp is going to definatally be different than mine since she lives in Vegas and I live here. Me and Tori have been talking about it since we found out that it was official. I love hanging out with my best friend. She has a great personality and she is a great person to be around. I love her!! She is basically my sister. No, actually she is my sister and I miss her tons! I am just soo excited about it!
I know that was kinda random but it's the thing that has been on my mind lately so I think it qualifies as something to blog about. :)

This next part is for all of my friends here in Fallon.

The Cecil Clan

The reason I have posted this blog is because...
This weekend I was visited by my bestest friend in the entire world, Tori Cecil! She came with her family which we call the Cecil Clan (hence the name of the title). They brought their 2 dogs Belle and Duke. I love the dogs and I absolutely love the Cecil Clan! Duke is a boxer and but I' not so sure about Belle. (Belle is Tori's dog) I was so surprised by the surprise visit from the Cecil's that I got a little tearyed. I felt a little embarrassed but it worked out. The visit was really fun but I was also sad that they only got to stay for a very short amount of time, ( 3 days). But in the time that they were here Tori and I had a BLAST!! We played the game Nerts (Thanks to my great aunt who introduced me to the game) and played a few imaginary games, which is always fun, and got to hang out with one of my friends from church/school.

We also got a little bit of snow this weekend and because in Vegas there is not a lot of snow the Cecil's loved it. So while the snow lasted Tori and I took a few walks around the neighborhood with Jaxon (one of Tori's brothers) and had time to talk together for a while, which we both enjoy. Tori and I also talked a little bit about going to the temple because she is not yet old enough to go. She said, and I quote, " LUCKY!!!" when I told her that I have been to the temple twice. We had a lot of fun together.

Altogether including the adults and the kids and Tori and I played the game THINGS. (Thanks to my aunt and uncle on my mom's side for introducing us the game) Tori and I really get along well and we have a lot in common so we were able to enjoy to be in each others company and were not in any disagreements at all the entire time.

I miss my best friend and we had this plan where I or Tori would each save up our money and buy 1 plane ticket each, 1 for the way to someones house and 1 to fly the person back home.

I do not have any pictures for this blog because I am posting from my Dad's computer, and his computer does not have any pictures that were taken while the Cecils were here so I apologize for that.

Thanks for the wonderful visit The Cecil Clan!!!

Funness

I know that it is a little late to blog about Girls Camp but I guess I can still blog about it right, after all it is still the Summer Break. But Girls Camp was still very fun, even though I was one of the people who had a hard time with all the friends there. (Sometimes they were hard to get along with.) But that doesn't matter anymore because I am still alive right, otherwise I would not be blogging now. Well anyways lets get on about one of the activities all the first years did with each other at Girls Camp.We did so many fun things I can't even list them all that is why I sortof wish I was in Girls Camp right this very second. My favorite thing that we did was the Cope Course. It was awsome!! So I am going to discribe during this blog.

There were 3 different courses in the Cope Cousre, the 1st was called "Ants on a Log". I think that we all had fun at that time. What "Ants on a Log" is is a log tied up off the ground and parallel to the ground. Then the rules of the 1st course are: 3 people have to be on the log at once or you start over, but only three at a time. When 1 person gets off the next person in line has to be on the log when the other steps off. Then the most important rule is that every one has to get across the log without any body falling of or jumping off so only 2 people are left on the log. That was one of the funnest courses I think.

Anyways the second course was the scaling wall. Now this was tricky but we all got over the top and back to the bottom of the wall. Well we first had to get the strongest up. The first up was Savannah. She is a millimeter taller than me but super, super strong. Then we had to pull everyone up and over with some help from the people at the top and the people at the bottom. The only people who could help at the bottom were the people who had not yet gone up and over the top of the wall. Then when we had 3 people at the top 1 had to come down because we could only have 3 at the top at 1 time. So we kept Savannah at the top until Amber Kiskowski (1 of my friends) got up and then she was up the entire rest of the time. When I was lifted up, Amber wouldn't let me hep at all. I was so mad at her!!!! She made me mad almost the entire rest of the day. Well anyway we got everyone up and over the scaling wall and moved on to the next course.

The last course was the rock climbing wall. This wasn't really like the the other ones because you didn't really get to work together. I mean there was lots of encouragement that had to be given but I wouldn't consider that really working together. All the rock climbing did was make our arms and legs shake. So this wasn't my favorite course. Well most of us got to the top and rang the bell but some of us 1st years didn't even get 2 feet of the ground but that is okay. This cousre wasn't my favorite but we all still had a lot of fun.

So this was one of the things everyone got to do at girls camp and it was a great way to remember my first year at Girls Camp.

GIRLS CAMP ROCKS!!!!
